Nama Partners is a freshly formed architecture partnership between architectural designers and architects. Ken Manssouri, Mike Brettman, and Herb Casner have worked together at MCG Architecture for several years prior forming Nama Partners.

The first project for this firm is the addition of a pool and a pool house at the Colorado Athletic Club in Boulder, Colorado. The site is located in the urban area of Boulder, specifically on an existing parking lot that will be demolished. This pool will provide an area for kids, lap swimming, and a pool house. The architecture of the pool house will align with the 29th Street Mall Design Guidelines. The project is expected to add landscape space, and revitalize and support the existing functions of the area.

The approval for this project did not go smoothly. The first submittal was rejected even though city and community backed this project. The Nama Partners team had to address valuable comments from the city and re-submit the project. Thankfully, the second submittal was successful. The project is moving forward, and Nama Partners should break ground in the fall of 2009.

Through this project, Nama Partners learned from that much time is spent on navigating the process and reviews with the city. As such, they are recommending more planning at the beginning of a project to avoid redundancy and miscommunication.
